Space Debris 2: Defence!
Step into the shoes of an astronaut trapped in a hostile space base, face relentless enemies, defy reversed gravity, and avoid toxic pools to make your escape. By collecting keys and power-ups scattered throughout the levels, demonstrate your agility to complete your space escape!
This is my 2D Platformer project made on Unity and C# thanks to the Coursera course "Game Design and Development" by Michigan State University.
Add-ons:
Starting from the basic version required for the course assignment, I added the following elements:
- The Gravity Mode that allows player to walk, jump and move on the ceiling:
- Created two new pick-up objects, one to activate inverted gravity and one to activate normal gravity, with related scripts;
- Modified the GUI to show when gravity mode is activated;
- Created inverted enemies;
- Created inverted checkpoints;
- The possibility to use enemies as platforms (they never die);
- A text that appears when a checkpoint is activated;
- Two new levels with different type of challenges for the player;
- Keys' inventory on the GUI to show which keys the player has picked up.
